ISLAMABAD: China on Wednesday successfully launched a new test satellite into space from its Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
A Kuaizhou-11 Y2 carrier rocket launched the VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) test satellite at 9:15 a.m. (Beijing Time) and entered orbit according to the plan.
New Satellite will be used for communications tests
The satellite will be mainly used for communications tests and verification of key technologies of the VDES and the automatic identification system (AIS), ecns.cn reported.
According to the launch center, it was the 23rd flight mission of the Kuaizhou-11 rockets.
