Pakistani Rupee Further Weakens Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: A bit slightly but the exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee depreciated further by 04 paisa against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs 227.92 against Tuesday’s closing of Rs 227.88.

Last Monday the rupee also witnessed a depreciation of 27 paisa against the U.S dollar with another depreciation o Wednesday.

As reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were witnessed at Rs 235.7 and Rs 238 respectively.

The price of the euro currency recorded an increase of Rs 27 paisa and closed at Rs 244.92 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 244.65, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Meanwhile, the Japanese yen was recorded without change and closed at Rs1.72, while the British Pound witnessed an increase of 10 paisa and was traded at Rs 277.13 against Rs 277.03 on Tuesday.

Similarly, the exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal also experience a slight increase of 01 paisa each to close at Rs 62.05 and Rs 60.69 respectively.
