USA Secretary of State
Blinken Secretary of State Antony announced the new aid to support Ukraine in acquiring equipment to help its badly destroyed energy framework. NATO foreign ministers said in Bucharest, Romania, these tools will be rapidly conveyed to Ukraine on an emergency basis to support Ukrainians to persevere through the winter, State Department said. It will include distribution transformers, circuit breakers, surge arresters, disconnectors, vehicles, and other key equipment.
We will continue to provide additional support with coalition allies and partners. We are also helping devise continuing solutions for grid restoration and repair infrastructure along with our assistance for Ukraine’s effort to advance the energy transition and build an infrastructure decoupled from Russian energy. Ukraine’s government said Ukraine’s power grid operator has an energy shortage of 30 percent.
